Noject

Changelog

Version history and release notes for Noject.

Release notes for Noject, newest first. Updates are free for the lifetime of the Mac App Store app.

1.3 App Store exclusive

Latest release.

  • Network share reconnection. You can now protect mounted network shares (SMB / Samba, AFP, and FTP / FTPS), not just local and external drives. A network share can't be force-ejected the way a local disk can, but it can drop on its own when the server reboots, the network blips, or your Mac sleeps and wakes. For protected shares, Noject keeps them connected: when one disconnects, it asks Finder to remount the share by URL, prompting for credentials when macOS doesn't already have them in the Keychain. See Configuration for the details, including the right-click Reconnect and Disconnect Once (bypass) actions.
  • Two new languages. Added Svenska (Swedish) and Română (Romanian), bringing Noject to 11 fully localised languages. The app still follows your macOS system language automatically.

1.2 App Store exclusive

Maintenance release.

  • Bug fixes and stability improvements. Fixes XPC handling and initial setup, applicable only to the app store release.

1.1 App Store exclusive

Maintenance release.

  • Bug fixes and codesign related improvements, applicable only to the app store release.

1.0 Free

Initial public release.

  • Eject protection for any volume you mark as protected: refuses eject and unmount requests from Finder, Disk Utility, Terminal, and third-party apps.
  • Always-on background agent that enforces protection even when the menu-bar app is closed, and survives reboots, sleep, and reconnects.
  • Protection persists by volume UUID, so a protected drive is re-armed automatically the next time it is plugged in.
  • One-shot Eject Once (bypass) for the rare time you genuinely need to eject a protected drive without changing your settings.
  • Native macOS notifications when an ejection is blocked, coalesced so a Finder "force eject" loop won't spam Notification Center.
  • Private by design: no account, no telemetry, no network connections.
